ARTIST BIO

Alissa Leigh is a fine art painter from Bedford, NY. Even as a child, she was drawn to and fascinated by the effect color has on mood and the world around her. Her abstract compositions are influenced by artists such as Joan Mitchell, Elaine de Kooning, and Mary Abbott as well as her time living and studying in New York City.

She uses abstraction to express her emotions, regardless of her mood when she approaches the canvas - it is always with sweeping strokes, gestural marks, vibrant color, and a thoughtful desire to shift any negativity within her or around her into artworks that will become energetic focal points in whatever spaces they are in.

Alissa Leigh works mainly with acrylic paints, but enjoys incorporating collage elements, oils, spray paint, markers, and pastels in her designs. Leigh’s works are in private collections throughout the USA, as well as in Germany and Hungary. Her works have been included in numerous group shows in New York and Connecticut and she was selected as an exhibitor at the Armonk Outdoor Art Show in New York in 2023. She has also has two very successful solo shows at Chroma Fine Art Gallery in Katonah, NY.
